What data do I need to use the calculator?
Minimum: patient age and current axial length (OD and OS). A prior axial length measurement unlocks growth rate tracking. All other fields (keratometry, refraction, parental myopia) are optional and improve the risk score accuracy.
Is this a medical device?
No. MyopiaTracker is a clinical decision support tool for patient education and visualisation. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace clinical judgment. Not FDA-cleared as a medical device.
Where does the projection data come from?
Growth curves from Tideman et al. 2018 (Acta Ophthalmologica, n=5,766), Sanz Diez et al. 2019, and He et al. 2015. Treatment efficacy from primary RCTs: Chamberlain 2019 (MiSight), Bao 2022 (Stellest), Yam 2019 LAMP (atropine), Chia 2012 ATOM2, Lam 2020 (MiyoSmart). See the

Is patient data HIPAA compliant?
In the free tier, all data stays locally in your browser — nothing is transmitted. Pro tier uses Google Firebase (BAA-covered Firestore). HIPAA BAA with iCare Enterprises, LLC is available on Enterprise plans only.
Does it work on tablet or phone?
Yes. The app is fully responsive and works on iPad and Android tablets. The free tier works offline — no internet required during consultations.
